At Summerset in the Bay, our facilities are designed to take advantage of the fantastic Hawke's Bay weather. But no matter the weather, you'll always have something to do with a range of indoor facilities too. Our on-site Activities Coordinator makes sure there's always a calendar of events and activities to keep you entertained, and you can do as much or as little as you choose.

Our Divine Café and in-house catering offer contemporary food menus prepared on site with wholesome, seasonal, fresh and locally-grown produce.

EDIT (We pay weekly fees for lawn upkeep and windows every three months. This does not happen for windows. Lucky if done six months.)

Cons

Fees should be the same as everyone gets the same services. They should not be increased yearly!! Surely this increase is for increased living expenses.

Very well run by most staff. Windows (outside) not cleaned often enough and should not have to be done by residents, because they look so bad. Often this was happening before lockdown, and worse since.

No pool. Too hot in overcrowded room for meetings/activities On going monthly costs increases , compared to other retirement villages

Air conditioning needs top priority. Is the weekly hour for free drinks the best way to spend money/only a small percentage of residents attend.

Not being "in control" of property. Distance from shopping.

The care centre has some good staff but until recently patients have suffered under poor management. It also appears to be short staffed. (Temporary current management ok)
