Highgrove Retirement Village is described as "a boutique retirement village - boasting of many of the amenities that you would only expect of much larger villages." Personalised service that comes with being part of a small community combined with the benefits of a larger retirement resort.

There is an indoor pool area at Highgrove Retirement Village that contains a heated swimming pool large enough for exercising or simply splashing about in. Residents can relax in the a spa, and enjoy chasing the winter chill away. There is also a gymnasium with a variety of exercise equipment and the village is centred around a pÃ©tanque terrain the boules game that everyone can play and enjoy, with virtually no training or experience.

Residents can also meet in the Highgrove village restaurant, or simply enjoy the company and conversation with others in the Club Lounge and Bar.

Highgrove Village is a wonderful place to live. We have friendly people and we all get along well together. The staff are wonderful.

Cons

Only one little negative. I miss having a clothesline. A lot of my sheets/clothing don't like tumble dryer.

Shortly after being widowed I had a serious accident. I couldn't cope with living alone any more, despite having supportive friends and family. I have loved this place since day 1. Security, no maintenance worries, I know all the lovely residents and we interact happily. I still keep involved in outside activities.

3 months later, in July 2013, my Mother necessarily transferred to the adjoining Patrick Ferry Rest home and my father continued to live in the apartment at Highgrove Village, visiting Mum on a daily basis. The transfer was smoothly achieved; as also was my Father's transfer of residence to Patrick Ferry, at short notice in Decembr 2017. I have alway been very happy with the care provided to both of my parents by the staff at Patrick Ferry and also during their residence at Highgrove.
