During the term of the pandemismaller size we have been able to keep an eye on each other and have exercises and meet once a week to discuss Weave had no trouble keeping to all health and safety rules.The staff have been making sure we are all doing ok and taking meals to those who need it.All of us feel very blessed to be here at this time and very proud and thankful for the hard work and dedication of staff who have cared for our friends so well in the rest home under very stressing conditions

We still have infrastructure and maintenance issues and realise the past months must have been a strain on the finances of the owners so we are a little fearful of what comes next financially for us.

We have been through a number of years of continual change with many promises not dealt with, and attitudes such as no support from management when issues come up, Speaking to villagers with no respect and understanding of elderly issues, being told we are independent snd not checked on even after earthquskes under changeable management.During these months we have seen a definite improvement in the way we have been treated, a caring attitude and protocols etc being written and explained which

Has been run down by previous owners. A lot of work to catch up by new owners.

More interaction with the village people by management. My husband and I came here 6yrs ago knowing he had medical problems. We loved our home and people. When he died the staff and management were wonderful and now I'm alone I feel secure and am happy. Management has changed and although very nice. I feel there could be more interaction with the village. We are part of Neighbourhood Watch led by one of our village.

We chose Dunblane retirement village. After my wife suffered a stroke my wife moved to the hospital wing where she received extremely high level of care. The support shown to me enabled me to be a part of my wifes care program. I cannot praise highly enough the level of care and support from all areas of the 'Dunblane" resthome and retirement village.

Caring management and staff, beautiful gardens and kind helpful Gardeners,cosy home,friendly residents,come and go as I please,close to town and interests,financially able to live with dignity on one pension which after a busy life in the community is so important.

Cons

Maintenance very poor and some things have been left for a long time.Lawn mowing not very good now, a feeling of not being important to Ociania and now we have been sold.A feeling of being second class citizens by Auckland .No advertising which is important as this is an affordable village and people should know.

When we wrote to Oceania we did get some things done and a new maintenance man and our Manager have been very good at getting things done properly. We have had lovely administration people who have all left suddenly and we do hope now we have been sold the people we get fond of can stay as the administrator is important as it's often the person we see most. Our manager is a lovely man and has supported all we have been forced to do because of things we have seen that are not as they should be.
