*Has country Garden Village appeal. * Is 'boutique' with relaxed informal surrounds * Feels safe, yet private. *My unit(1bedtoom) is warm, insulated,, sunny aspect within the grounds of facility. *Open interaction with management and staff.

Cons

*There is no designated area/room/facility for unit residents to meet independent of facility, except in one another's homes at present(may be for historical/ financial etc reasons) *Transport. unit residents rely on own cars, mobility scooters, St. Johns, Facility van. Public transport in Te Puke is still evolving. * Appointments to Tauranga hospital and elsewhere 'out of hours' rely on family, friends ambulance services etc.

Signal on public signage around Complex that there are independent 'Village' resident units around Carter House, besides, rest home, hospital and dementia Care facilities.

Cons

Little or no separate place or room for village residents to gather either communally or privately. No resolution [as yet] to personal mail for a block of units located in the grounds of the facility. No guarantee of automatic move "up to next care level" at the same facility.

It is with some assurance, having recently joined the Retirement Villages Residents Association of NZ, we villagers, small and large, now have a united voice regarding contracts, disputes, corporate takeovers, financial liquidity etc. Buyer beware!
