I recently visited a friend and was deeply touched by the kindness of the people I met. Miram and Sony dropped by to reassure us and warmly welcome her. During my visits, I frequently encountered Miram, who always greeted me with a smile and ensured we were doing well.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Eastcliffe Retirement Village frequently, and I must say, it’s an absolute hidden gem. Tucked away in the heart of Auckland, this retirement community offers so much more than your typical retirement village. Allow me to share my firsthand impressions: Warm Community Spirit: The residents at Eastcliffe are like a big, welcoming family. Their warmth and friendliness create a sense of camaraderie that’s hard to find elsewhere. Taking Negative Reviews with a Grain of Salt: While every place has its critics, I’ve learned not to take negative reviews at face value. People tend to leave reviews when they’re upset, rather than when they’re content. So, let’s approach those critiques with a healthy dose of skepticism. Exciting Activities Galore: Eastcliffe knows how to keep its residents engaged. Whether it’s van trips to explore the city or lively events like the recent Elvis concert, there’s always something happening. The management truly understands the importance of creating memorable experiences. I have loved seeing Elvis Refreshing Environment: The current management has been hard at work, addressing things that needed attention. The surroundings are beautiful, and there’s a fresh, scent in the air- it used to stink. Fantastic Staff: The staff members are exceptional. They’re polite, respectful, and always ready to assist. I even had a security guard walk me to my car one night—such a thoughtful touch. As for the prior manager, well, let’s just say they left something to be desired. Perhaps those who complained had a different experience. In summary, Eastcliffe Retirement Village feels more like a delightful holiday resort than a typical retirement community. If you’re considering a place to retire, I wholeheartedly recommend paying Eastcliffe a visit. Who knows? You might just fall in love with it, as I did!

I chose Eastcliffe because of its beautiful setting/ view & when I first came here it was totally different, caring atmosphere and everyone seemed happy & harmonious.

Our manager is wonderful. Always a group of miserable people who think they run the place letting the village down. Management are kind and so very hard working. The new team get things done. I am so busy now. Love it

Cons

The coffee group are revolting human beings. Who add nothing to the village. I feel sorry for the staff

I love living at Eastcliffe and its beautiful position with wonderful views etc. Unfortunately management is inept and totally unempathetic. Staff who question in their daily meetings have all been dismissed in a round about way. In the 3.5 years I have been here there are only 3 left of the originals.

what a fantastic management team at eastcliffe who made everything from finding the right apartment for mum to guiding us through the entire process and fully explaining mum's rights and responsibilities and then when mum moved in they showed mum through everything, had flowers and a meal prepared for her on her first night to ease the move in stress, we were so grateful for their care of mum which has taken away our concerns.
