"independent living"

Pros

No gardening or building maintenance, fixed costs and cost increases, great village staff, home security when away for any length of time, including overnight, reliable access to full time care if/when needed. Nothing positive to say about head office, who do not recognise that our agreement is with this village, not with them - my comments relate only to this village and its staff. As to recommending the village to others, that is a personal decision on which I would not want to trespass.

Cons

Not enough staff/resources to deliver services efficiently, or sometimes at all, Head Office concerned only on profits for shareholders - they call us a commodity, no share of capital gain, poor dispute resolution service, delayed reimbursement of funds after termination, and little concern for residents as living breathing human beings with a mind of their own, statutory supervisor lacking in transparent independence of action.

Suggestions to Management or General Comment

More sympathy required from Head Office in relation to responding to genuine concerns, beyond simply stating that it has done all that it is legally required to do. If they really cared for their residents, they would be more sympathetic in their response to well argued submissions.
