Cons

Required extra gardening staff to improve the standard of what this place represents "Gardens". Because of a complete lack of qualified gardening staff our once lovely gardens have deteriorated.

Chose the facility because of the gardens but they have totally deteriorated in three years. Poor knowledgable staff.

Friendly residents mainly and also most of staff, lots of activities and readiness to expand activities like have quiz nights monthly now . Nice units and 3 stages are good and 4 will be better when they eventually build them. Maximum of 2 stories high now. Lovely gardens and consequently birds.

Cons

Only now doing maintenance after 2 and a half years of residency. Expensive choice of building materials with not enough consideration of suitability for elderly people like bricks with sharp edges. Main worry is lack of knowing what will happen when you leave, how long before money comes through and if you have to keep on paying after leaving. They seem to very conveniently forget they are using other people's monies all the time and resident's committee has no power and only can advise.

No bus stop nearby, or shops.

We have more walking space and gardens per person than any other retirement village. Large swimming pool / theatre / gym and many meeting places etc. After looking at many other retirement places we picked this one as the best.
